About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Placement Coordinator to join the Melbourne School of Psychological Sciences and make a real impact on external placements. The Placement Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the external placements for the UoM postgraduate clinical neuropsychology training programs. Working under the direction of the Director of the Clinical Neuropsychology Program, a principal responsibility is to ensure that all Clinical Neuropsychology students have a range of appropriate placement experiences and are able to meet the placement requirements of the program. In addition, the Placement Coordinator will monitor and supervise clinical work undertaken by Clinical Neuropsychology students while on placement at the University of Melbourne Psychology Clinic (UMPC). There will also be opportunities to contribute to teaching in the Clinical Neuropsychology Program and undertake research at a level consistent with the time fraction of the appointment.
Your responsibilities will include:
4. Establish and maintain relationships with suitable placement settings.
5. Regularly evaluate the range and quality of placement experiences available to students in the Clinical Neuropsychology program.
6. Work in conjunction with senior staff in the Clinical Neuropsychology program to develop an individual plan for the supervised practice of each student.
7. Provide individual and group supervision to Clinical Neuropsychology students undertaking placement at UMPC.
8. Work closely with students on establishing priorities and needs in relation to placement arrangements and liaise with them during their placements.
Who We Are Looking For
To be successful in this role you will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to develop positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders. You will also demonstrate excellent organisational and administrative skills, which enable you to manage competing demands.
You will also have:
9. A postgraduate qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology.
10. National registration (or eligibility for registration) as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
11. Endorsement (or eligibility for endorsement) as a Clinical Neuropsychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
12. Registration as a supervisor with the Psychology Board of Australia.
