An exciting, fixed term opportunity for a Payroll Officer to join our Shared Services team in our Cairns office for a minimum of 9 months.
About The Role
The Payroll Officer is responsible for ensuring all payroll related financial management operations are executed in an accurate and timely manner. The major accountabilities of the position are payroll, budgeting and auditing. This role reports to the Finance Manager and has no direct report. The Payroll Officer will possess a proven level of excellence in data entry with a low error rate, be results focused and have excellent communication skills.
Objectives
Deliver a compliant, cost effective and efficient financial system that ensures fiscal compliance and supports projects to best monitor and deliver on their objectives;Provide managers with contract management support including contract approval, alignment to CYP objectives, risk mitigation and adherence to financial and legal requirements;Manage a procurement system that achieves cost effectiveness and alignment to the needs, values and policies of CYP;Develop practical internal policies that embed CYP values and assist to deliver CYP objectives;Operate an effective and efficient facilities and asset management system that promotes teamwork and enhances project and CYP performance.Essential Criteria
Certificate III or higher in Accounting, Finance, Payroll Management or equivalent qualifications or a minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience in a similar position;Demonstrated experience with computerised finance and / or payroll systems (eg.
