Due to the Partnear team continuing to grow, we’re looking for someone to be a key part of our Structures and Buildings team to help us deliver and drive quality structural engineering outcomes for our clients. Whilst this role will have structural engineering as the core capability, as part of a small dynamic team, you will have the opportunity to participate and contribute to other aspects of our business such as project management, client interaction and business development.Who you are:You’re comfortable working on projects from proposals and site assessments through to project output preparation, including functional descriptions, design documentation and reviews.Proficiency in technical interpretation of client and internal stakeholder briefs, survey data, architectural and engineering designs.Initiate, develop and finalise engineering designs and project support work on time and budget in accordance with team, client and stakeholder expectations.Produce engineering designs consistent with relevant standards including, but not limited to, Australian Standards, manufacturers specifications, and client specific standards.Work effectively within Partnear’s policy, systems, processes, culture and working norms to deliver consistent and quality work as part of a remote team.Proactively and timely communicate to support the delivery of enquiries and project tasks and build relationships with our multidisciplinary team, ensuring collaboration on project objectives and tasks, deliverable coordination, management of internal expectations, and culture are maintained or improved.Seek support and training opportunities for continued personal and professional development.Contribute to continuous improvement.Participate in and support the culture and processes.Provide support to other projects and business activities from time to time as required in a small dynamic organisation.What you have:Bachelor of Engineering (Civil)(Structural) or equivalent.NER (National Engineer Register) Registration and BLA (Building Licensing Authority) Registration in Victoria and be prepared to use your registration to certify project outputs where required.A minimum of 3 years experience in structural engineering design.Experience in Structural Design using steel, concrete and timber, with an understanding of the design, calculation and documentation process through the use of structural analysis tools and CAD software.A well-developed understanding of the Australian Standards and codes relevant to residential, commercial and industrial buildings and structures.Experience in site assessment and projects in construction.Good time management and task prioritisation skills with the ability to self-coordinate on dynamic and concurrent project tasks with others.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships and communicate consistently and effectively in a mostly online short-written message environment.Self-motivated, with the ability to effectively work independently and as part of a remote team.Full unrestricted rights to work in Australia.Hold a Driver’s licence and be prepared to travel across or interstate from time to time.Knowledge of and experience using Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Slides and Drive), Slack, Trello, Zoom and Projectworks or similar software is highly desirable but not essential.Partnear is a fully remote, multi-disciplined engineering design firm that is passionate about working smarter to deliver projects in an environment that is collaborative, supportive, and enjoyable.
