The ACNP is active in advancing nursing practice and improving access to health care.You will be the leader of a small, professional team in achieving ACNP's mission: To empower Nurse Practitioners & Advanced Practice Nurses to provide expert care to everyone, everywhere.About the role:The CEO is responsible for the delivery of outcomes based on the Board's strategic direction, representing the College nationally and for the overall leadership and operational management of the College.
The CEO will facilitate exceptional communication with members and other stakeholders.
The position reports directly to the President.Responsibilities within this leadership role include:Governance: Ensuring best practice and clear direction to comply with governance requirementsBusiness development in line with the strategic plan targetsOrganisational policy development and updatingManagement of program deliveryDeveloping income streams to support membersStakeholder engagement and communicationManagement of Human Resources requirementsManage and mentor Operations team membersKeep abreast of financial performance and drive financial initiativesStrategic support of the Nurse Practitioners workforce plan and other policy and legislative changes requiredKey selection criteria (knowledge/skills):Exemplary strategic, operational, financial and people management skillsAn understanding of the political environment and current issues affecting the health and social services sector, relating to nurse practitionersFinancial and business acumen and understanding of preparation of budgets, business plans and funding submissionsAbility to analyse data, identify risk, opportunities and issues for the organisation with an ability to respondHigh level of interpersonal skills with proven track record of managing stakeholder relationships, building and maintaining collaborative partnershipsHigh level understanding of roles and functions within Department of Health and Aged Care and governmentDevelopment and management of relationships within governmentProvide board members with high level advice on strategic requirements for legislative and policy changeLeadership experience in the health, community or not for profit sectorsImplementing and managing a diverse portfolio of programs and projects within a continuous quality improvement frameworkExposure to financial initiatives and meeting revenue targetsWorking closely with and managing board member relationshipsAt least 5 years in a similar or related positionPrevious governance or leadership experience in the NFP sectorQualifications and job specific requirements:Previous experience as a registered nurse, senior manager within the health sector or a policy officerMelbourne or Canberra based location (flexible working arrangements and hours) (preferred, not essential)Please send through an up-to-date resume and cover letter addressing the Key Selection Criteria by applying now.
