About Mt Arthur Coal Mt Arthur Coal is an open-cut coal mine 100 per cent owned by BHP. Located in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales, it's the largest producer of energy coal in the region, operating alongside olive growers, wine makers, horse breeders and the nearby residential community of Muswellbrook.Our greatest asset is and has always been our people and communities, which is why we are committed to working together on our Pathway to 2030 - a program to responsibly close Mt Arthur Coal. We are about doing the right thing and working with everyone to co-create a shared vision for the future of the region.We currently have a role available for an Electrical Production Technician to join our team on a 5:4 lifestyle roster. In this role, you will work within the Mt Arthur Coal handling Processing Plant (CHPP) at Muswellbrook. You will ensure the continued operation of all CHPP streams from the ROM to train load-out.Your work will contribute to optimal production, equipment performance and availability, as well as improving reliability and ensuring that we are well placed for future growth within our operations. In this role you will: Comply with and consistently follow the standards and procedures designed to enable you to work safely and effectively every dayEnsure that high safety standards at the CHPP are maintainedEnsure the continued operation of CHPP, RAW streams, and Train load-outOperate Dozers to manage stockpiles and load trainsEnsure grade, quality and plant throughput targets are achievedIdentify and communicate opportunities to improve process and equipment reliabilityEngage in safety initiatives, identify and report on any unsafe equipmentCarry out unplanned and planned routine maintenance, inspections, and checks to a range of equipment, and/or electrical networksAssist in resolution of mechanical issues affecting equipment performance and availabilityMaintain a high level of housekeeping in all work areasAssist in resolution of electrical issues affecting equipment performance and availabilityProvide electrical trade skills to perform care maintenance tasks within the area, to ensure overall reliability and stability About You Proven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm's wayElectrical Trade Cert 3 or above (essential)Electrical Workers licenseExperience working in a similar role with exposure to maintenance workExperience with mining/minerals processing environments (preferred)Ability to work autonomously, or as part of a teamAbility to confidently make decisions relating to your work, or escalate if neededAdaptable and responsive to change, as well as learning new information About Our Process At BHP, we are committed to employing individuals who align with the BHP Charter Values and meet the requirements of the role.
