In this role you will be part of the Strategic Communication and Engagement Branch (SC&E), which provides a comprehensive suite of communication and engagement services across communication, engagement, media, and digital and audio-visual, design and publishing specialist streams.
You will be responsible for supporting the Branch's strategic communication service delivery by delivering digital projects, advice and services that are strategically focussed and informed by consumer insight and best practice.
As part of the Online and Digital team in SC&E, you will deliver high quality strategic online communications advice and services to support departmental and whole-of-government projects, and improving customer-centricity and user experience, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
You will be a team player with the ability to proactively lead, implement and evaluate effective online communication strategies.
Using a strategic design-thinking communication approach, you will work with stakeholders to raise community awareness of and engagement with the department's products and services.
Your expertise will contribute to collaboration with cross-functional teams within SC&E, working together to find effective digital and creative solutions.

Key duties of this role:
* Provide advice and support to deliver high-quality informational and transactional digital services using content management systems (CMS) to inform audiences of departmental programs, policies and initiatives.
* Design and develop customer-centric content of a complex and substantial nature for various digital platforms, including web applications and forms.
* Provide high-level support in the management of departmental internal and external websites using web CMS.
* Apply human-centred design methodology in content design and project delivery.
* Contribute to developing and conducting research and engagement activities e.g. surveys, customer interviews, tree testing, usability testing.
* Advise clients on best practice, mandatory standards and policy for web (e.g. accessibility requirements, information architecture).
* Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure communication and engagement services are strategic, customer focussed and highly effective.
Key proven experience required:
* use strategic thinking to understand customer perspectives and develop digital communication and engagement solutions that support the department's objectives
* apply your experience designing, developing and maintaining high quality digital strategies, web sites and interactive services
* apply your experience writing and editing customer-centric materials for online and digital platforms using research and data to drive decisions

o use your project management skills to coordinate digital projects from inception to completion and ensure delivery within agreed timeframes

o work proactively and take personal responsibility for completion of priority projects within a complex, fast-paced and changing environment with competing deadlines.
Mandatory requirements
Although there are no mandatory qualifications for this role, knowledge and/or experience in the following would be highly desirable:
o Squiz Matrix CMS, Form.IO, Engagement HQ, SharePoint, Google Analytics and other web technologies, and knowledge of mandatory web standards and policies
o Designing and developing high quality digital strategies, websites and interactive services.
o Writing and editing customer-centric materials for online and digital platforms using research and data to drive decisions.
