Role
This position is full-time, with the successful applicant expected to work onsite during school operating hours (including outside-school hours events).
The Business Manager undertakes tasks that impact the whole school, obtaining the cooperation of other staff members and school community members to achieve specific objectives in school administration, finance and human resources.
Although the Business Manager is provided direction on targets and goals, they have some degree of latitude in determining how they are achieved within the Department of Education and school policy and procedures.
The Business Manager¿s management of staff is crucial to achieving expected outcomes. The Business Manager resolves staff management issues with minimal reference to senior management, although guidance will be provided in more complex cases. The Business Manager provides timely reports and advice on school finance, human resources and administration matters.
The Business Manager is a member of the leadership team accountable for developing and delivering key services integral to Noble Park Primary School's effective operation. They provide a range of services and analyse complex problems that form part of the policy framework.
Responsibilities
Deliver School Services
* Manage the design and production of school publications and documents.
Finance
* Manage and direct the preparation of annual budgets and regular financial statements and contribute to the school's financial decision-making.
* Prepare funding submissions for the leadership team and school council.
* Direct the school's accounting processes and ensure that all funds, including school investments, are effectively accounted for according to Treasury regulations.
* Provide advice to staff on spending against budget for faculties, programs and other school projects.
* Administer government grants and other school income.
General Administration
* Ensure the provision of a range of administrative support functions for the principal and teaching staff.
* Provide administrative support to external service providers as required.
* Manage the processing of student admissions, registrations, enrolments and transfers.
* Provide administrative support for school events, functions and projects.
* Implement induction programs for new staff, volunteers, and other workers at the school.
Human Resources
* Research, plan and prepare development programs for support staff.
* Manage recruitment procedures.
* Provide authoritative advice to the leadership team on support structures and work practices.
* Assist in developing work practices that maintain appropriate occupational health and safety standards.
* Manage procedures relating to employee relations issues.
* Assist in the development of human resource planning.
Manage School Resources
* Coordinate the use and maintenance of school buildings and equipment.
* Liaise and negotiate with service providers for the cost and quality of services.
* Supervise the delivery of contracted services.
* Manage the development and collection of resources at the school.
* Evaluation, draft reports and make recommendations on financial and operational issues.
Other duties as directed by the principal.
