Role Overview Geodrones Australia is looking for a passionate engineer to join our team. To be successful you are an efficient and enthusiastic worker both in an office and shop floor environment. Working as a Mechatronics Engineer you will be responsible for creating, updating and evaluating aircraft prototype designs and build processes. You will enjoy working in a challenging environment with no pre-defined path. You are comfortable playing a lead role in the implementation of manufacturing processes, improvements, design and development of manufacturing tooling and test equipment. You will participate in manufacturability assessments working closely with partners to ensure effective integration of technology into the final prototype design. You have experience with a wide variety of assembly and manufacturing processes, automation, cost analysis, and paperless workflow systems. Duties and Responsibilities Work on the implementation of software communication protocols such as CAN, UART, I2C and SPI. Integration of software to various hardware across utilities such as working with Jetson family of embedded systems Build custom drones and integrate drone parts (e.g., ESCs, flight controller, avionics, batteries, etc) Contribute to data collection and flight testing for R&D related activities Provide technical contribution in a fast-paced team environment, helping accelerate efforts to build an analytics-driven product pipeline. Concurrently manage involvement in multiple projects at various stages Requirements Experience with development, integration and deployment of aerospace technology Strong background in electro-mechanical assemblies Excellent verbal and written communication skills Well-developed interpersonal skills Detail oriented Experience with drawings and BOMs Experience in Research & Development & Innovation Quality systems for non-conforming parts and corrective action General working knowledge of complex aerospace manufacturing Formula SAE Electric/Solar car and/or Rocketry Team experience AGSVA Security Clearance – Baseline (or ability to achieve) #J-18808-Ljbffr
