: Aunty Agnes Shea High School is located in the Gungahlin district of Canberra and will open in Term 1, 2025. The school will cater for up to 800 students from years 7 to 10 and up to 90 teaching and ancillary staff. The new school will provide high quality contemporary indoor and outdoor learning environments. These inclusive facilities will support students with a diverse range of learning and social needs.
This is an exciting opportunity to be an inaugural staff member of Aunty Agnes Shea High School and play an integral role in the establishment and growth of a brand new school. We are looking for a motivated and highly organised individual to join our administration team as a School Assistant 4. Applicants will require exceptional communication skills, a strong team-oriented mindset, a high attention to detail and the ability to develop, implement, and review processes that contribute to the efficient and effective management of business operations.
While the school is establishing this will be a multi-faceted role, initially with a focus on Excursions and Events, Communications and Executive Support. The successful applicant will also support the Business Manager in the day-to-day administrative tasks of the school to support staff, students and the school community. It is vital that applicants are flexible, self-motivated and capable of prioritising their work as this will be a dynamic, evolving role as the school grows.

Eligibility/other requirements:

Highly Desirable
1. First Aid Certificate or a willingness to undertake appropriate training.
2. Experience in an administration role.
Desirable
3. Certificate IV or equivalent e.g. Business Administration (Education), Education Support, Government (School Support Services).
4. Knowledge of school specific software (Sentral).
5. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately for nine months with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency. A merit pool will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months.
