The Research Assistant will be responsible for conducting research studies, writing regular reports, and attending regular meetings with stakeholders to report project progress. This position will have a particular focus on mixed methods implementation evaluation of paediatric models of health care across areas such as transition from paediatric to adult care and youth mental health projects.The role of Research Assistant reports to the Head of the Research Group and has no direct reports. The position is full time, funded until March 2026.Main Responsibilities SummaryAttend research meetings and training sessions and take minutesRespond to routine enquiries relating to researchLiaise with stakeholders in the preparation of ethics and grant applications, abstracts, annual and progress reportsConduct, transcribe, and analyse qualitative and quantitative interviews with supportUndertake unsupervised research support tasks consistent with established methodologies (may include lab or field work)Maintain research databases, records and publication registersConduct statistical data reportingRecruit study participants and conduct survey mail outsOrganise fieldwork arrangementsWho You AreWe are looking for someone who has great communication and stakeholder management skills, aligned with UNSW's vision and values and coming with:A Masters degree as a minimum, ideally in Public Health or related areaDemonstrated experience with research in health contexts, with experience in qualitative research highly desirableIdeally, prior experience in the mental health space given it will be one of the first key projects this role will be working onAdvanced time management, organisational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to meet deadlinesDemonstrated computing skills including word processing (MS Word), spreadsheets (MS Excel), and statistical analysis packagesAbility to make sound judgements and work both independently and as part of a teamDemonstrated experience supporting and contributing to projects and initiatives.The successful candidate will need to have (or obtain) a valid NSW Work with Children Check and Police Check.Working hours are Monday to Friday, business hours.
