The Norman Hotel is one of Brisbane's most premium steak restaurants located in Woolloongabba. A privately owned restaurant, we pride ourselves on sourcing and serving the best Australian beef and fresh produce our beautiful country provides.
Our legendary meat cabinet stocked with more than 14 cuts of steak, sits proudly at the restaurant's entrance and our signature open grill takes centre stage of our beef-centric venue.
The Positions
Grill Chefs
We are looking for confident grill chefs with a passion for meat. You will be an excellent time manager and have the skills to cook a variety of steaks on the grill with multiple doneness's at any one time and be able to effectively supervise the work of junior kitchen staff while on shift.
An understanding of portioning beef as well as making house-made sausages would also be an advantage.
Short Order Chefs
Working in the short order team, experience in pan work is essential. You must have the skills to be able to multitask and execute daily services while sticking to strict timings. A calm working demeanour is essential as well as being able to work within a team environment.
Required Experience
* A minimum of 3 years' experience at a similar level is required
* AQF Chef / Cook trade qualifications an advantage
* Have a passion for cooking and delivering excellent quality foods
* Professional and well presented at all times
* Good attitude and work ethic
* Ability to work autonomously and part of a team
* Maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene to highest standards
Finer Details
Due to the high level of skill required, we are offering a salary above industry award, with flexible working hours.
