About our Team
Queensland Rail’s Catering Operations team plays a crucial role in providing high-quality catering services for our customers on the Spirit of Queensland, Spirit of the Outback, Westlander and the daily Tilt Train services departing and arriving at Brisbane.
As a Storeperson you will play an integral role by providing support to our Food and Beverage Control Officers and other catering team members. Some of the responsibilities that you will be responsible for include general cleaning duties, store duties, provisioning and de-provisioning of train services.
You will report directly to the Food and Beverage Operations Officer where you will join a supportive and engaged team which is comprised of another Storeperson, three Food and Beverage Control Officers, Catering Attendants and Administration Officers.
Role / Hours:
This is a permanent full-time position based in Bowen Hills, however you will be required to travel to Roma Street to assist with provisioning and deprovisioning of the long-distance travel trains.
You will be required to work between the hours 0600 to 1930 on a rotating roster between Tuesday to Sunday however flexibility with the roster is required and dependent on business requirements. You will also be required to work public holidays and overtime as needed.

About the role:
• Undertake general duties involving food and beverage
• Control and receive stock including assessing incoming goods for quality while ensuring best practice in storing goods including stock rotation
• Assist with the de-provision and provision of supplies for all long-distance trains on arrival / departure
• Undertake general errand and other duties requested as required

About you:
You will be a resilient and adaptable individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. In addition to this you will have:
• Sound ability in providing a quality customer service to both internal and external customers
• Previous experience and a sound skill in handling food and beverages
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage a range of different tasks
• Sound interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
Candidates will also need to hold the following pre-employment qualifications:
• Food Safety – use hygienic practices for food safety
• Hold a current ‘C’ class drivers licence. If you currently hold an MR licence it would be highly desirable for the role but not essential.
