We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne, from ambulatory to inpatient and home and community-based services.
The Department Alfred Health and Monash Health have established a formal partnership to deliver a Shared Pathology Service as one of three new pathology networks for metropolitan Melbourne.
All roles in the Pathology Programs are working to develop the Partnership across the Health Services to ensure we continue to provide high quality care for the patients across the health services.
Alfred Pathology Service (APS) provides a comprehensive range of pathology testing, consultation services and collection services to clinicians and patients of Alfred Health.
Position Summary An exciting opportunity has become available for a fixed term 3-month position for Quality Officer or Quality Manager, depending on the experience of the successful candidate.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, implementing and evaluating all aspects of the APS Quality System; quality improvement, quality assurance and accreditation related activities ensuring compliance with ISO 15189 and all other relevant NATA, NPAAC, RCPA and ACHS standards, as well as legislative and organisational quality compliance frameworks.
Experience and Qualifications Required Essential Bachelor of Science or Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) or equivalent Minimum 7 years' pathology laboratory scientist experience and extensive experience in a Quality role within pathology Extensive experience in using all functionality of a QMS software program. An understanding of ISO 15189 and NPAAC guidelines Strong organisational and communication skills Excellent attention to detail and ability to function well in a team environment. Skills Required Ability to quickly build and maintain positive relationships with team members and stakeholders. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of accreditation requirements; Knowledge and understanding of quality management in a pathology environment; Demonstrated experience with NATA accreditation of Human Pathology laboratories or related activities; Understanding of quality management principles such as quality improvement cycle and root cause analysis Demonstrated experience conducting internal and/or external audits. Competent at using a wide range of information and communication technologies relevant to the role including extensive use of Quality Management Systems such as Q-Pulse and FastTrack. Ability to work independently as well as effectively collaborate with others from a diverse range of stakeholders.
