About the Role:
Our new Dental Care Centre in Lithgow is growing and we are looking for a Dental Quality Coordinator to join our patient focused, close-knit team, to support the excellent clinical care we provide our members.
As the Dental Quality Coordinator, you will be responsible for the provision of quality clinical and professional support to the dental care centre clinical staff and managers. You will assure organisational compliance with WHS and Infection Prevention policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective quality patient care. This role will also provide support to ensure the ongoing documentation and preparation of the accreditation cycles to support the dental centre in maintaining the highest quality of care.
The role will be tasked with creating new processes as a recommendation of any accreditation, audit findings or incident reviews, and is responsible for implementing and communicating these processes/changes across the teams. The Dental Quality Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Dental Training Coordinator to assure traineeships and ongoing training techniques are providing quality high performing clinical staff and highlight any areas of inefficiencies and uplift.
The Dental Quality Coordinator will also assist with the day-to-day management of the clinic and undertake the duties of a Dental Assistant, Sterilisation Assistant and/or Dental Receptionist as required, in line with the high standard of oral health care and clinical service we offer our members.
Qualifications:
* Cert 3 in Dental Assisting is the minimum qualification for this role
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in mentoring and training dental assistants
* Cert IV in Dental Assisting, desirable
* Cert IV in Training and Assessment or willingness to complete
Skills:
* Dedicated to implementing and assuring quality care safe work practices and maintaining high levels of clinical staff accountability
* Demonstrated experience and commitment to service performance and accountability
* Demonstrated high levels of Dental clinical competence, knowledge and understanding of required applications and procedures
* Demonstrated experience in mentoring, training & clinical competency assessments of dental assistants
* Demonstrated ability to follow safe work practices in a clinical environment
* Dedication to patient care attitude and aptitude
* Ability to support, anticipate and work collaboratively with a clinical professional team
* Organisational skills in preparing for and assisting during oral health procedures with a commitment to infection prevention
* Well-developed written and oral communication skills
* Ability to envisage clinical risks and mitigate
* Ability to activate continuous improvement to address challenges and identify opportunities
* Experience in identifying and tracking issues and risks and developing and implementing mitigation strategies
