ConsultANZ is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Manager to join an international civil engineering firm involved in delivering large-scale infrastructure projects across Australia. This role, based in Melbourne, Victoria, will be responsible for overseeing and managing all commercial aspects of the company's operations in the region, ensuring the successful delivery of key projects while maintaining financial control and contractual compliance. Permanent Full-time Melbourne, VIC Opportunity to utilise your knowledge and experience Main duties: Provide comprehensive commercial and contractual support to the General Manager and other stakeholders within the company. Oversee and administer Commercial Management Plans and registers for the project, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance. Lead negotiations with clients to secure favourable contracts, ensuring alignment with project goals and commercial strategy. Monitor and manage the governance of commercial and contractual obligations across various work streams, ensuring consistency and legal compliance. Prepare and manage all commercial correspondence, including responses, and handle the contractual aspects of subcontractor management. Stay updated with current legislation and maintain a deep understanding of the Head Contract, ensuring its provisions are accurately applied to the project’s work. Lead procurement activities, define scopes of work, negotiate contracts, manage live accounts, and oversee the successful closeout of final accounts. Review and analyse agreements with subcontractors, ensuring clear terms and successful project outcomes. Requirements A Degree in Quantity Surveying/ Construction Management/Law/Civil Engineering, or a similar field. A proven history of working with an established civil contractor with local market knowledge. 10 years of experience, administrating large ITC contracts. Knowledge around D+C, PPP, and/or Australian Standard Contracts, dealing with legal councils. Proven ability to lead and manage a team. Contractual analysis and administration of risk and entitlement. Knowledge and experience in a variety of Australia and Australian standard contract forms and engagements. Subcontractor management, claims, budgets, variations, progress reporting. Sound understanding of assurances.
