We encourage people of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background and people with disability to apply About the role Casual Disability Support Worker positions available to support our clients who have varied interests including swimming, riding a bike, cooking and arts and craft. The shifts that are available are sleep overs and short shifts supporting clients living in the Alice Springs community. You will be actively supporting their individual needs by creating a safe environment and ensuring services are provided in a culturally appropriate way. To provide the best support, you will be an experienced Disability Support Worker with a range of experience across social support, behaviour support, personal care, complex health needs, manual handling and hoisting. Key Responsibilities Provide active person-centred support Follow behaviour support plans Promote client goals through enjoyable activities Provide personal care Ensure safe manual handling and hoisting Skills & Experience Personal care experience and experience working with people with complex health needs Similar interests to our clients (as listed above) Experience with behaviours of concern and following behaviour support plans Unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence Current Provide First Aid Certificate & CPR Sound understanding and sensitivity to Aboriginal culture and issues affecting Aboriginal people.
