About the Role: The position is located in the Curriculum Unit and is part of a dynamic and creative team responsible for the Design and Build component of all of Melbourne Polytechnics educational offerings.
Lead the design, development, redesign and review of curriculum materials and assessments for Vocational Education and Foundation Programs across the organisation Duties: Contribute to the leadership and implementation of the Melbourne Polytechnic Education Strategy across the organisation.
Lead and manage internal and external course design and development projects, including the design and creation of learning resources and assessment tools as well as any additional resources required.
Work collaboratively with relevant stakeholders, including Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), to design and redesign learning assessment and resources for the whole organisation.
Lead, monitor and report on projects to enhance course design and development capability within the organisation.
Support the implementation of established course design models and contribute to their continuous improvement.
Design, develop and review learning resource materials and assessment tools in accordance with Melbourne Polytechnic's Course Design and Development Procedure.
Partner with Vocational Education and Foundation program leadership and teaching teams to support the development of high-quality learning and assessment resources, designed to meet the requirements of training packages, curriculums, licensing and regulatory bodies.
Analyse and customise purchased, co-branded learning and assessment materials (if required).
Work collaboratively with the Department of Academic Quality and Compliance, and Academic Registry to develop and support the academic functions needed to meet all relevant guidelines and standards for course delivery.
Lead the Course Design and Development process, including existing courseware evaluation and curriculum design and development using innovative, contemporary and agile methodologies.
Communicating collaboratively and regularly with all Curriculum Unit team members to maintain a flexible and cohesive team environment that allows for consistency in the work of the unit.
Work collaboratively with Program Departments, the Professional Teaching Practice and Learning Environment units to support the implementation of innovative course design.
Ensure there is a consistent, collaborative approach to the development of course/curriculum and resources.
Undertake regular tracking and monitoring activities, using designated project management tools.
Keep up to date with all regulatory, licensing requirements and related government policies for VET courses.
Apply established learning technologies, blended and simulated learning methods, and contemporary teaching practices to enhance learner experience.
Work within the framework of Melbourne Polytechnic's policies, procedures, and legislative/regulatory requirements.

Skills and Experience Required: A degree or diploma in education or curriculum design in VET together with substantial relevant experience.
Plus A TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE 40110) including Design and Develop Assessment Tools (TAEASS502) and Address Adult language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills (TAELLN411) or (TAELLN401A) or Diploma of Vocational Education &Training (TAE50111/TAE50116) or Diploma level or higher Adult education qualification Demonstrated experience in an educational leadership capacity within the Vocational Education sector.
Demonstrated knowledge, understanding and experience in all regulatory and compliance requirements for curriculum and assessment development in the VET sector A minimum of 3 years' recent experience in analysis of curriculum, learning and assessment resources in VET The ability to research, source and analyse external and internal learning and assessment resources Evidence of knowledge and experience demonstrating a learner centered, contemporary, flexible and diverse approach to curriculum design.
Demonstrated knowledge of copyright and intellectual property requirements and strategic management of these.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively at all levels, both autonomously and co-operatively as a team member Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills to liaise effectively with relevant internal and external stakeholder groups.
Significant experience in managing projects of various sizes and managing a complex workload in a demanding environment Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to Occupational Health and Safety, Anti- Discrimination, Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement.
A current Working with Children Check Card (Employee) - mandatory .
Successful candidate must be able to attain a valid National Police Check – mandatory .
Evidence of the ability to use, adapt, adopt and evaluate learning technologies in innovative and creative ways - desirable.
