Position Overview:
The Senior Building Consultant will collaborate closely with the Project Management and Leadership team to provide critical technical input across multiple projects. This role involves delivering technical consultancy services, ensuring projects meet time, cost, and quality objectives. Managing a team of technical staff, administrators, and external consultants when necessary, to deliver exceptional client outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
4. Provide technical advice internally to project and leadership team on projects and building compliance requirements and advise clients of technical aspects of projects to ensure client satisfaction, successful project delivery and a positive customer experience.
5. Take accountability for multiple technical consultancy projects, from setup to completion, including financial management, reporting, OH&S compliance, risk management, and quality assurance.
6. Proactively seek opportunities for business growth and revenue generation, maintaining strong client relationships and addressing their operational needs.
7. Ensure technical input at project inception, defining elements lists, defects lists, technical specifications, and reporting deliverables aligned with project scopes.
8. Conduct on-site building assessments and audits, validating assessment data and preparing comprehensive technical reports.
9. Manage resource allocation, including training and onboarding new team members, ensuring adherence to project procedures and safety regulations.
10. Collaborate with internal teams to maintain project accuracy, meet deadlines, and ensure client satisfaction.
11. Uphold company standards in OH&S management and compliance throughout project lifecycles.
12. Evaluate technical findings, implement corrective actions as needed, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
13. Working with Children Check, full license and reliable vehicle.
14. Tertiary qualification in the built environment (engineering, building surveying, architecture, construction, asset/facilities management,).
15. Previous experience in technical consultancy within the building asset management, facilities management, or related industry.
16. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage diverse teams and engage effectively with stakeholders.
17. Proficiency in technical report writing, data analysis, and project management tools.
18. Knowledge of Australian building codes and standards, with a commitment to quality and client service.
19. Proactive problem-solving ability and a collaborative approach to achieving project objectives.
