About the role
As Building Regulatory Officer you will utilise you’re existing and developing technical skills and knowledge gained through studies, and on the job training to be a key member of the Building Certification, Regulatory and Regulated Pools teams. You will assist the team with building regulatory assessments and building certification functions.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
* Support and assist in facilitating external stakeholder relationships
* Engage with external consultants and partner with various stakeholders to assist in the delivery of swimming pool promotion and education programs and collaborate with other areas of Council
* Support and assist in the processing and assessment of Building Regulatory Applications and carry out inspections for compliance with legislation

About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
* Tertiary qualification in a related field or other relevant discipline and/or relevant experience
* Accreditation with a relevant professional organisation relevant to delivery of educational programs for adults or children or willingness to enrol
* Willingness and ability to enrol in accreditation with a relevant professional organisation recognised by the Queensland Building and Construction Commission for licensing as a building certifier
* Basic knowledge of the Building Act and Building Regulations
* A Working with Children check – Issue of Blue Card and Positive Notice Letter (issued by the Queensland Government) or Exemption Card or willingness to obtain
* A current Queensland C Class Driver’s Licence
