Excellence in the teaching of literacy and numeracy is a major focus.About The Role:As a Head of Special Education Services, you will be an integral part of our Primary teaching team, leading the delivery of a vibrant curriculum and possessing a strong knowledge of content and pedagogy in this area. You will specialize in the ability to differentiate the curriculum to the diverse learning needs of our students, particularly in the area of inclusive education and students with additional support needs.The Ideal Candidate Will:Promote an inclusive culture and practices within the school community to ensure equity and excellence for students with disability.Develop and support a high quality of teaching and adjustments for students with disability in accordance with related legislation and policies.Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:Work with, and build teachers' capability in using data to provide effective differentiated instruction to a diverse student cohort;Implement research based pedagogical practices to increase student engagement;Lead the development and implementation of high quality of teaching and adjustments for students with disability in accordance with related legislation and policies;Provide high quality advice to the school leadership team, classroom teachers and other school staff to develop, plan and implement effective reasonable adjustments for students with disability;Provide, support and/or coordinate case management for students who require extensive or substantial adjustments;In conjunction with the Deputy Principal/Principal and key stakeholders develop, coordinate and implement targeted teaching intervention in the areas of Literacy and Numeracy in response to student data to support every student succeeding;Manage special provisions for all students with a personalised learning record and/or ICP;Manage allied health professionals and external agencies providing support to students;Articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focused on providing quality learning outcomes for all students;Support the School's Collaborative Capability Development Framework and align staff capability to professional learning opportunities;Be committed to creating a school wide culture of wellbeing, engagement and personal achievement that values diversity, responding to the needs and interests of students and staff.Interested?
