Consultant in Geriatric Medicine - Rockhampton - QueenslandHead Medical are delighted to share we are seeking aConsultant in Geriatric Medicine to be based in Rockhampton, Queensland- A regional city that offers an ideal lifestyle and is the southern gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, coming up with a beautiful 300 days of sunshine a year.The health service provides health care to Central Queensland that covers a catchment area of approximately 250,000, a number which is expected to continue to grow.As the appointed consultant you will maintain a commitment to Central Queensland (CQ) Health values and deliver services that continually strive towards efficacy targets for safety, quality, clinical and operational outcomes.You will also contribute to the full scope of geriatric services including Acute, Subacute, Community, Outpatient, and Interim Care. This will include the management of complex behavioural patients, consultation services across Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS), leading complex patient journey/discharge planning activities, and participating in the Orthogeriatric service.What's on offer for you?Total remuneration value of up to $514,421 p.a. Specialist Medical Services include Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, Cardiology, Renal Medicine, Palliative Care, Psychiatry, Rehabilitation, Geriatric Medicine, Paediatrics, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Urology, ENT, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Intensive Care, and Anaesthesia. There are also a range of clinical services provided on a visiting basis from tertiary hospitals in Queensland. A new Cancer Care Unit provides care for local patients, with state-of-the-art equipment and services.The hospital provides training for Medical Students participating in the University of Queensland – Central Queensland Rural Clinical School and has links with the Central Queensland University for Nursing and Health Studies. There is a strong emphasis on strengthening the "grow your own" medical workforce with an active Medical Education Unit and registrar training as a major focus within the health service.Applicants should be registered (or eligible for registration) as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia and be a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent as an overseas trained specialist who has completed their training in either the UK, Ireland, Canada, USA (ABIM certified), or New Zealand.Rockhampton's colonial history can be seen in its palm tree-lined streets and grand old heritage buildings – some of which have been lovingly restored to give the city a real 'Aussie' charm, creating a real sense of community.
