FULL TIME, 3 YEAR FIXED TERM
MOUNT LAWLEY CAMPUS (2025) + CITY CAMPUS (2026–2027)
OPEN TO CANDIDATES WITH RELEVANT WORK RIGHTS
OVERVIEW
Develop exciting and vibrant creative productions using the cutting-edge technologies that are built into ECU’s new city campus. We seek a visual, media or screen artist experienced in using new technologies to create significant artworks, develop collaborations with staff and students, and build community engagement based on technologically enabled artworks.
THE ROLE
Your fellowship will provide dedicated time for your own creative research of 3 days per week. Your research is expected to contribute directly to ECU’s development as a leader in future-focused visual, media and screen arts (including one or more of: media architecture, very large LED screens, immersive reality, artificial intelligence, and/or creative computing). The remainder of your time will involve developing collaborative programs of community engagement through education and research. Your work will include supporting colleagues in their development of skills and knowledge in art and technology. You may be asked to undertake limited direct teaching and/or curriculum design in areas that draw on your research expertise (e.g. in visual arts, design, media or screen production). You will be encouraged to work with colleagues across a range of disciplines, as determined by the focus of your creative work.
From 2026, your team will be based at our new City Campus in central Perth, with access to cutting edge creative technologies and opportunities to engage with city-based companies and community organisations. As part of the Creative Humanities, you will be expected to build partnerships across the University and with media industry and community organisations, and other education providers.
