This full-time, Monday-to-Friday position plays a key role in the strategic leadership and management of the perioperative environment. POSITION OVERVIEW The successful candidate will oversee clinical staff, financial planning, and material resource allocation, ensuring optimal performance and excellence in patient care. The role works in collaboration with the Anaes/PACU NUM, the second theatre department on Level 3, SSD, DOSA & wards/ICU to plan and provide the most optimal surgical services to the patients and VMOs. ABOUT THE CANDIDATE As the successful candidate, you will demonstrate a commitment to quality care and the best patient outcomes, as well as demonstrate the following: Current registration with AHPRA; 5 or more years of varied and progressive perioperative nursing management experience with increasing levels of administrative responsibility and authority; Strong organisational and customer service skills; Demonstrated understanding of clinical risk management and clinical quality principles, and their application to the health sector and patient safety; Demonstrated high-level written and verbal communication skills, with previous experience in developing high-quality business plans, presentations, and strategic correspondence; Ability to understand and monitor performance and compliance with agreed key performance indicators; High-level computer literacy, including experience with Microsoft Office products and electronic clinical and administrative applications used in health services; Proven ability to manage complex situations involving patients, medical practitioners, or others in a professional manner, and to determine an appropriate course of action. ABOUT THE FACILITY The hospital, located south-east of Sydney, is an acute facility with 7 operating theatres, 2 Catheter Laboratories, a renowned Maternity Unit, and Level 2 Intensive Care (ICU) and Coronary Care Units (CCU). The hospital specializes in complex Orthopaedic Trauma, Urology, Colorectal, Plastic, Bariatric, Gynaecology, General and Dental surgical procedures. The Surgical Services Unit is a 10-theatre complex with a hybrid theatre that completes around 10,000 procedures per year incorporating specialties such as cardiothoracic, neurosurgery, complex ENT, orthopaedics, vascular, robotic surgery and general surgery.
