Job Description
Under the general direction of the Senior Project Officer – Joint Management
With a focus on the Warlibirri National Park and in collaboration with Senior Operations Officer Fitzroy Work Centre:
1. Provides leadership, mentoring, training and supervision of Gooniyandi joint management rangers.
2. Facilitates collaborative works planning, implementation, administration, monitoring and evaluation of works under the direction of the Gooniyandi Joint Management Board (JMB).
3. Supports healthy country aspirations by maintaining effective relationships with Traditional Owners and supporting Traditional Owner engagement in joint management planning, prioritsation and review processes.
4. Supports the planning and implementation of on country field trips and experiences.
5. Attends and contributes to Joint Management Body meetings and events.
Selection Criteria
Applicants should address the following 4 criteria. These should be addressed in no more than 4 pages in total.
6. Evidence of well-developed interpersonal and oral communication skills with experience in effective liaison with external organisations; including other government agencies, community, and special interest groups.
7. Ability and willingness to work with Traditional Owners to deliver native title aspirations through joint management, cooperation, or collaborative arrangements.
8. Experience, knowledge, and skills in leading and managing others, working effectively as part of a team and independently; including evidence of ability to identify training needs, source or conduct training as appropriate, and promote an environment of continuous learning.
9. Experience in natural land management and associated project management of allocated work programs and experience in infrastructure development and maintenance.
Note: The successful applicant will be required to possess or obtain a current (issue date not older than 6 months) and satisfactory National Police Check prior to commencement.

The successful applicant will be required to possess or obtain a current Working With Children Check card prior to commencement.
