Position: Project Engineer - NPI (Intermediate / Senior)Company: Tier 1 EPCMLocation: Perth, WA, AustraliaEmployment Type: ContractorContract length: Initially 12 Months - Subjected to extensionsRole ResponsibilitiesAs a Project Engineer, you will work closely with project controls, procurement, contracts, and engineering/design teams to support the successful delivery of a major iron ore project. We are considering candidates at both Intermediate and Senior levels for this role.This may include responsibilities but not limited to:Manage small multidisciplinary projects or larger single-discipline scopes across all project phases, ensuring safe, efficient, cost-effective, and timely execution.Serve as the primary technical liaison with clients, ensuring project alignment with their expectations, approved Basis of Design, and applicable regulatory requirements.Occasionally travel to project sites for contract management and oversight.Lead and promote a strong health and safety culture, providing safety leadership to the project team.Participate in constructability, operability, and maintainability workshops.Understand procurement, subcontracting, and provide on-site construction support.Track and analyze design deliverables, quantities, costs, and schedules, using data to forecast trends and ensure project control.Manage project progress through regular reviews and controls, developing action plans to address issues and ensure on-time delivery.Demonstrate strong understanding of Project Control Reports, identifying issues and effectively communicating progress, proposals, and reports to staff and management.Required Skills and QualificationsHolds a recognized engineering degree in NPI or related field.Experienced in EPCM and EPC projects, with a background in multi-cultural, multi-national environments.6-10+ years of engineering, project management, and supervisory experience, including workshare and E/EP projects.Proven leadership in smaller projects with strong commercial, contractual, and technical expertise.Experience in constructing NPI facilities (mining villages, site offices, fuel facilities, ablutions, water, power, etc.).Skilled in making independent decisions, prioritizing tasks, and managing project impacts on cost and schedule.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint) and experienced in Access and Visio for data management.Only candidates with the right to work in Australia will be considered.
