* Permanent part time working 19 hours per week over a 7 day roster
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at Mount Gambier & District Health Service.
The successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing food production, ensuring meals meet high standards of quality and safety.
* Manage food orders, plating, and menu selections
* Train apprentices and provide guidance to catering staff
* Maintain food storage, correct handling, and ensure compliance with food safety guidelines
* Liaise with procurement offices to manage food orders and supplies
* Contribute to ongoing review, development, and implementation of procedures
Requirements
* Trade qualifications or equivalent experience as a Cook
* Strong teamwork skills and the ability to engage with staff at all levels
* Flexible with work schedules and able to manage staff and priorities
* Experience in preparing bulk meals and dietary-specific cooking
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with diverse cultures and backgrounds
* Working knowledge of menu planning, ordering, managing stock levels, IDDSI, staff supervision and allergen management (highly desirable)
* A passion for working as a chef/cook in Aged Care & Health Care
