Our Mooroopna kindergarten has been running in the local community for over 70 years. We are a sessional kindergarten that in 2025 will run Tuesday to Thursday offering 15 hours of funded kindergarten to children in the two years before school (age 3 & 4). In this true casual role based in Mooroopna, you’ll work with the Mooroopna Kindergarten team to develop, implement, and evaluate a high quality, developmentally and culturally appropriate play and learning environment for children. As part of our Northern Victoria team, you’ll report to the main Teacher, and will work during school terms only in a casual basis, supporting unexpected leave, training, and School Readiness Funding backfill.
You will make an impact by:
* Supporting the existing team in the delivery of a high-quality educational program for children attending the Mooroopna Kindergarten, consistent with the National Quality Framework and Early Years Learning Frameworks
* Supporting the Educators in the delivery of a 3 and 4-year-old kindergarten program
* Developing and maintaining respectful, supportive, collaborative, and responsive relationships with staff, children, and families
* Actively supporting every child to participate in the program, promoting their agency, choices and influence

You have experience in early childhood programs, and the ability to think on your feet which allows you to find solutions to complex situations. Your infectious enthusiasm for your job will see you actively seeking out families in need of support, and you build rapport and relationships easily with children and adults from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families.
Bringing your best every day, means:
* An approved Early Childhood Teaching Qualification as approved by ACECQA (essential) and current VIT registration
o Note: If you have a Diploma of Early Childhood Education, and are currently working towards your Bachelor of Early Childhood Teaching, please get in touch
o If you're a Primary trained teacher with a Certificate III, please get in touch
* Knowledge and/or experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of a high quality, developmentally appropriate education and care program
* Knowledge and/or experience in the application of approved learning frameworks, in particular the Early Years Learning Framework
* Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
* Comprehensive understanding of your obligations for Mandatory Reporting and Child Protection matters
* Knowledge of the Child Safe Standards and an ability to incorporate them into service delivery

This position is designated under the Multiagency Risk Assessment and Management framework (MARAM), which requires mandated MARAM Family Violence Screening & Identification training and responsibilities. If successful in the role, you will need to undertake MARAM training and provide evidence of completion.
