You will be working in a supportive multidisciplinary team, with a Senior Speech Pathologist. This includes dysphagia and mealtime management, communication disorders, augmentative communication and oral health.Complete Brightwater documentation to the required standard, and actively collaborate with the client and the rest of the multidisciplinary team to ensure that the care plans for clients are relevant and appropriate.Communicate with clients and their representatives in regards to identifying the client’s individualised goals and preferences, developing the client’s dysphagia and/or communication plan and providing information about the SP recommendations, showing respect for the individuals.Identify areas for improvement and use a continuous quality improvement approach to problem solving.To be successful for the role, you will possess the following attributes:Membership with Speech Pathology Australia.Demonstrated competency as a Speech Pathologist to assess, plan, implement and evaluate client care.Strong person-centred skills in communicating and engaging with clients with high support needs including cognitive impairment, brain injury, and dementia.Working knowledge of occupational safety and health legislation; and where relevant, the Aged Care Act (1997); and/or Disability Services Commission Standards (1988).Up to date Flu Vaccination and Covid-19 vaccinations.First Aid Certificate less than 3 years old.Possess a current Western Australian ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.Current satisfactory National Police Certificate (obtained within the last 12 months).About Brightwater:With a track record that dates back to 1901, care is at our core.
