This is an identified position and applicants must be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Person (Aboriginality is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised under Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act of 1977).
Applicants selected for an interview will be required to provide Confirmation of Aboriginality documentation at the interview
• Key role in community engagement and providing positive educational experiences for Aboriginal students
• 1 temporary full time role available until December 2024
• Located at Bathurst campus

A Day in the Life of an Aboriginal Student Support Officer.
The Aboriginal Student Support Officer plays a vital role in supporting students virtually and face to face across Australia. You will support students in achieving positive outcomes of success for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students while building effective stakeholder relationships and working efficiently to support a large number of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander students.

About You
You will have strong communication skills and demonstrated experience in building relationships with students and other stakeholders. Bringing your experience and influencing skills you will share your knowledge, consult and collaborate on cultural appropriate strategies. Being resilient and flexible you are comfortable with constructively managing conflict and mediating and you manage issues with sensitivity and confidentiality. You have demonstrated ability in using Office 365 and a strong background in administration (highly desirable within the education sector).
