The City is seeking a dynamic and strategic Manager of Asset Maintenance to oversee the development, budgeting, design, management, and implementation of the City's civil and building asset maintenance strategy.Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership and Management: Lead and support a diverse team fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and high performance. Ensure effective communication across departments driving successful program delivery.Strategic Planning: Develop and implement long-term strategies for asset renewal and maintenance ensuring cost-effective operations and the successful completion of projects.Financial Oversight: Develop and manage budgets for maintenance projects ensuring alignment with City priorities. Monitor expenditures and report on progress to the Director of Projects and Infrastructure.Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with stakeholders across the City including other departments, external contractors, and service providers to ensure asset maintenance programs are delivered efficiently and on schedule.Asset Management: Develop comprehensive asset replacement and renewal programs and manage maintenance schedules for all City assets including parks, buildings, roads, and civil infrastructure.RequirementsProven leadership experience in asset management, maintenance, and operations ideally within local government or a related sector.Strong budget management and financial oversight skills with a demonstrated ability to manage multi-million dollar projects.A strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement long-term plans for asset maintenance and renewal.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate staff, work collaboratively with other departments, and manage relationships with contractors and suppliers.A relevant tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction, or a related discipline along with extensive hands-on experience in asset maintenance and project management.
