Skills or Experience Required for the Position: At least 3 years relevant experience in the last 5 years.
The Master Seamer will set up and maintain welding equipment and perform quality geomembrane welding and construction techniques which deliver on quality and productivity, as assigned by the Supervisor.
What You'll Be Doing Reviewing project drawings/instructions to ensure construction requirements are understoodSetting-up wedge welders and extrusion welders and documents via set-up logEnsuring that the correct material is used for specific jobsOperating complex welding tools including wedge welders and extruding machines that require regulation of temperature, pressure, speed, and flow of operationEnsuring correct methodology is used to fabricate geomembrane materials including measurements, cutting, shaping, and fittingReporting any faulty equipment to the Leading Hand or Supervisor and undertaking repairs of equipment.
Performing both preventative and corrective maintenance of welding equipmentPerforming geomembrane welding unsupervised, using products including HDPE, Polypropylene, LLDPE and any other applicable productsTesting the integrity of all plastic welds and ensuring all welds meet the minimum requirementsAssisting fill sandbags and deploy sheets of materialUndergoing training in the use of appropriate plant and equipmentAdhering to all National, State, and local WHSE requirementsWhat We're Looking For Solid work history and experience working as a Geomembrane TechnicianCurrent White Card or equivalentAbility to understand and follow instructionsBe a recognised team player and have the ability to work in a team-based environmentCommitment and a good attitude towards safety and cultureAbility to perform physically demanding tasks such as manual labourAbility to work under pressureWillingness to grow and develop within a dynamic, changing environmentUnderstand and work to all National, State, and local (Fabtech) Occupational Health, Safety and Environment (OHS&E) requirementsAbility to perform quality welding and construction techniquesHighly desirable: IAGI or TWI certificationRemuneration An annual salary of $73,150 – $109,000 plus superannuation (excluding overtime and penalty rates) is offered based on a 38-hour week and dependent on skills and experience.
