We are currently looking for a passionate, highly dedicated and organised Sous Chef to join the team in our prestigious Conference and Events operation. You will be given the responsibility of supporting the Chef de Cuisine and assist with leading the team, always ensuring consistency in high quality product and service standards.
Our Events team at The Star Gold Coast is a perfectly coordinated operation facilitating the catering to the Gold Coasts most exclusive functions and events. Producing high quality food in a short period of time requires precision on every level. The team is loyal and experienced, and no 2 days are ever the same.
What are we looking for?
1. Senior Chef experience required in a 5-star environment or large restaurant
2. Previous experience in a 5-star conferencing and Events operation (highly regarded)
3. Experience driving quality and consistency, with a passion for a diverse range of food and a keen desire for continuous learning
4. Previous experience with quality control in production and preservation
5. Ability to ensure a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness within the kitchens
6. Previous knowledge of food and labour cost controls
7. A warm, naturally engaging personality that takes pride in delivering a memorable product
8. Basic computer skills essential
9. Full working rights to commit to 40 hours a week which can include day shifts, evenings, weekend and public holidays
