Federal Government Department looking to hire Lead Information Architect for 12 - 24 month contract (EL2 equivalent)

Data Architects design, create, deploy and manage the way data will be structured, stored, used, integrated and managed in IT systems. Seeking an Information Architect to support its reform of information management within the agency.
As an Information Architect, your role will be to design policies and procedures for the creation, management and destruction of information assets to effectively deliver information, insights, and services to the public at the right time in the right format.
Key duties and responsibilities
* Analyse existing information and records management processes and procedures, classifications, systems, business requirements and user needs.
* Identify opportunities for change and reform in the way the department manages its information assets.
* Describe the metadata, structural hierarchies and relationships for agency information assets.
* Design an information classification and access model.
* Optimise the balance between searchability, usability, compliance and security for information assets.
* Draft standards, policies and procedures for the appropriate creation, description, maintenance, use, preservation, secure storage and disposal of digital data, information, and records.
* Produce technical plans, blueprints, and roadmaps to articulate the business and technical benefits of proposed information architecture solutions.
* Advise ICT projects on compliance with the Information Architecture.
* Work with Enterprise Architects to ensure architectural quality and compliance with agency governance.
Criteria
* Demonstrated experience in information architecture and records management, including the drafting of standards, processes, policies and procedures.
* Knowledge of agency compliance obligations under the Archives Act 1983 (Cth).
* Familiarity with the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and the ASD Information Security Manual (ISM).
* Hands-on experience working with electronic document records management systems (EDRMS).
* Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.
* Basic awareness of AI services and their applications.
