About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and driven Technical Sales Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be the key point of contact for clients requiring custom metal fabrication, design, and engineering solutions. Your expertise will help guide clients through the process of designing, fabricating, and installing equipment or structures tailored to their operational needs and ensuring compliance with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) standards, as well as meeting Australian Standards. You will work with a diverse range of clients, including local councils, government entities, and private sector businesses.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Engage with clients, including local councils, government agencies, and private businesses, to assess their needs through on-site consultations or remote communications.
2. Provide technical expertise to help clients identify solutions to their unique challenges.
3. Design and propose customised fabrication solutions for clients, ensuring all solutions meet Australian Standards.
4. Work closely with the design and fabrication teams to ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective, and meet WHS and Australian Standards.
5. Manage sales processes from initial client contact to final project delivery, ensuring client satisfaction.
6. Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and actively seek new business opportunities.
7. Offer technical advice on compliance, safety, and operational efficiency improvements.
8. Prepare and present detailed project proposals and quotations.
Skills and Experience:
1. Strong technical background in metal fabrication, welding, sheet metal work, or engineering.
2. Experience in a sales environment, preferably in a technical or industrial field.
3. Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build lasting client relationships.
5. Problem-solving mindset, with the ability to offer tailored solutions to meet client needs.
6. Familiarity with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) standards and Australian Standards in the industrial sector.
7. Previous experience working with local councils, government clients, or in a similar role is highly desirable.
