Our client, Lake Cathie Tavern Pty Ltd is looking for Chefs/Cooks.
About You – Cook/Chef:
* Cook position: You will hold Certificate III in Hospitality – Commercial Cookery (essential) or higher and have at least 2 – 3 years relevant experience
* Chef position: AQF associate degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2) or 3 years of relevant experience
Responsibilities
* Preparing a range of meals for guests of the venue, including, breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks to a high standard
* Ensure menus, food standards, procedures and processes are followed
* Prepare and cook food
* Supervise and manage kitchen operations as required
* Ensure adequacy of supplies at the cooking stations. If not adequate, order food supplies.
* Prepare ingredients that should be frequently available (vegetables, spices etc.)
* Follow the guidance of the executive or sous chef and have input in new ways of presentation or dishes
* Put effort in optimizing the cooking process with attention to speed and quality
* Liaise with kitchen staff, director and other stakeholders regarding any potential preparation issues and enforce strict health and hygiene standards
* Help to maintain a climate of smooth and friendly cooperation
* If required, train staff in line with company procedure
