The Facility:
The Hospital is the major referral centre for North West Queensland. The hospital has approximately 80 beds catering for an area of 300,000 remote and rural kilometres with a population of approximately 34,000 people.
The Role:
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Psychiatrist to further their career as a Clinical Director of Psychiatry.
As Clinical Director of Mental Health you will provide medical and clinical leadership and oversee a team of Psychiatrists offering the full range of public mental health services within the Mental Health Department.
The position will work with the Director of Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drug Services (MH&AODS) to assume clinical responsibility and leadership of the multidisciplinary teams to ensure the provision of appropriate patient care. In partnership with the Director of MH&AODS and Management Team the position is responsible for providing leadership in the development of the clinical services including the planning and development of sustainable clinical programs and strategies.
It is envisaged that up to 70% time will be in clinical and supervisory duties with 30% devoted to administration and service development. The split can be negotiated with the reporting line manager.
