St.Giles is looking for a casual lifeguard who will provide a safe swimming environment for our clients. This role will supervise all hydrotherapy pool users and ensure their safety at all times whilst using our facility.St.Giles places the most value on finding individuals who are going to be positive contributors to our team-first culture and live our organisational values, mission and vision of being Tasmania’s leading disability service provider as we enable people to thrive!What we offer:Community focused employer.Supportive and collaborative team environment, including flexible working conditions.Salary Packaging.Health and wellbeing programs including reward and recognition platform, EAP and corporate health insurance discount.Career development and training opportunities.The opportunity to mentor and supervise new graduates and students.Onsite parking.Key Responsibilities:Supervising the hydrotherapy pool space while pro-actively ensuring a safe environment in and around the pool area.Performing lifeguard, rescue and first aid duties as required.Ensuring facility rules are being obeyed whilst at the same time educating facility users about safe aquatic practices.Carrying out intervention and preventative action to ensure the safety and wellbeing of patrons, the facility and equipment.St.Giles requires the following from you:Pool Lifeguard Certification including the following components:HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid (no longer a pre-requisite to enrolling)SISCAQU019 – Supervise patron safety in aquatic locationsSISCAQU020 – Perform water rescuesSISCAQU021 – Perform complex water rescuesSISCAQU022 – Provide oxygen resuscitation and therapy in an aquatic environmentHLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitationCandidate must be currently accredited.Knowledge of NDIS and participant/family centred practices is desirable.National Police Check (no older than 3 months).Current or ability to apply for Working with Vulnerable People Card/NDIS Worker Screening Check.
