About the Division / Team
Our Hunter Valley network primarily services the Hunter Valley coal chain – the world’s largest thermal coal export operation – by providing an efficient and reliable rail transportation system between mines and the Port of Newcastle.We manage the movement of around 250 trains per day on our network. Around half of these being coal trains and the other half comprised of passenger services, as well as grain, general intermodal, and other bulk freight trains.
About the Opportunity
Provide safe, reliable and efficient operation andmaintenance of Heavy Plant Assets and other rail bound plant as required to aquality standard.
The position has flexibility of location on offer.
Ensure thesafety, productivity and reliability of equipment during use.
1. Undertake track maintenance activities to applicable standards of safety, integrity and quality
2. Operate machines effectively, efficiently and productively
3. Complete all necessary plant and task related paperwork
4. Maintain operational control of the Heavy Plant assets at all times during travel and work, providing clear communication with work team as required
5. Assist tradespeople withl all manner of inspection, servicing, scheduled maintenance, and breakdown repairs of heavy plant assets and other plant as directed
About You
To ensure success in this position, applicants will be able to demonstrate:
6. Operational experience with high value plant and equipment
7. Dedicated commitment to safety and quality assurance
8. Sound written and oral communication skills
9. Ability to read and interpret plans and safety information
10. Ability to work independently and in a team environment
11. Experience with computer systems and programs
12. Holder of a Class C drivers License
