Looking for an experienced Parks and Recreation Manager!

Our client oversees a vast region of nearly 60,000 square kilometres which is home to around 30,000 residents living in thirteen unique communities, including Emerald, Blackwater, and Capella. They manage essential services, infrastructure, and community development, supporting a region rich in minerals and agriculture. Our client is strategically significant, encompassing parts of the Bowen Basin.
Your new role
The Manager of Parks, Recreation, and Facilities, reporting directly to the General Manager of Communities, provides leadership, organisation, and senior management-level guidance for all operations and activities related to parks and gardens, community facilities, and sports and recreation teams.
What you'll need to succeed
* Proven expertise in managing business operations across diverse parks and recreational sectors, including responsibilities in staffing, administration, financial oversight, asset management, and project coordination.
* Committed to high personal ethics and integrity, demonstrating discretion, diplomacy, and transparent decision-making abilities.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for negotiation and the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels.
* Comprehensive understanding of industrial relations, equal employment opportunity, and workplace health and safety legislation, with the ability to promote a customer-focused, ethical, and equitable workplace environment.
* Adept at leading, motivating, and driving outcomes while exhibiting self-awareness and resilience in leadership roles.
* Possession of a valid Queensland C Class provisional driving licence.
* Holding degree-level qualifications in a relevant discipline or extensive experience in a comparable role.

For the duration of the position, accommodation will be supplied for suitable applicants. The costs for travel will be provided at commencement and conclusion of the contract where provided.
