SACA is looking for an experienced Analyst to join our High-Performance team. You will lead the data and performance analysis for the SACA Men’s program to enable best practice cricket analytics and intelligence support to elite Senior and pathway teams in conjunction with coaching and performance support staff.Please be aware that this position is a 2-year fixed term contract.Key responsibilities:Provide world-class statistical analysis of cricket specific metrics to the following programs:SACA State Teams (or equivalent) contracted players and teams (i.e. Sheffield Shield and One Day Cup teams)BBL Adelaide Strikers (or equivalent) contracted players and teamsSACA Pathway program supportPresent analysis of opposition players and teams to coaching and performance staff.Provide in-game data to matchday coaching and performance staff to guide strategy and playing direction.Run data driven projects, in conjunction with coaching staff, to help bring greater context to strategic decision making.Define and present game defining key performance indicators.Prepare and present analysis of individual and team opposition to coaches and players as directed.Prepare and present thorough post-match analysis to inform individual player plans as directed by coaching staff.Work in conjunction with relevant staff to prepare statistical analysis for recruitment of potential players.Work in conjunction with pathways coaching staff to conduct relevant analytical projects to assist with development of pathway players.Coding of relevant SACA / CA cricket matches.Manage schedule for the coding of relevant SACA / CA matches in South Australia.Train and educate coaches and relevant performance staff on the use of relevant technology required in order to capture and analyse training and matchday footage and data.Keep track of team and player milestones (i.e. games played, runs scored, wickets taken etc.).Manage, maintain and update performance analysis equipment as required.Any other duties as designated by GM of Cricket, SACA Men’s Program Head Coach, WBBL Head Coach, SACA Men’s Program Talent Manager.You will hold a valid Working with Children Check or have the ability to obtain one.Key Position RequirementsMinimum QualificationsBachelor Degree in Sport and Exercise Science.Current and valid South Australian Working with Children Check.Minimum 2 years experience with relevant experience working with elite sporting individuals and teams (e.g. Data Science, Performance Analysis).Experience and high levels of competence in computer based systems used to perform statistical analysis (e.g. Power BI, Python, C++, SPSS or other equivalent).Highly Desirable QualificationsData science experience.Strong cricket knowledge and understanding.Experience in working with and managing large data sets.Previous experience in sporting team recruitment.About SACAThe SACA is one of the nation’s premier sporting bodies, with a vision for cricket to be Australia’s favorite sport – a sport for all Australians.
