Reporting directly to the Group Strategy Manager,the National Sales and Operations Manager is responsible for the strategic and hands-on leadership of a national network of depots, driving operational efficiency, sales performance, and long-term profitability. This role requires a dynamic leader with expertise in equipment hire, maintenance strategy, sales execution, and workforce leadership to stabilize, consolidate, and grow the business profitably.This role is a high-impact position within Big Chief Hire brand.Primary ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute a national sales strategy to drive revenue growth across all depotsLead, mentor and support the sales team.Develop strategies to attract and retain customers, focusing on both existing and potential clientsIdentify new and upcoming major civil construction projects and seek out new business opportunitiesDevelop sustainable stakeholder partnerships in the civil construction industry and public sector to ensure tender opportunities are maximisedDrive innovative strategies to enhance operational efficiency and financial performance at a national levelAnalyse the performance of individual states/ branches, providing comprehensive monthly reports and project forecastsReview, analyse and manage performance across Big Chief Hire nationallyManage ageing equipment to ensure it meets operational standardsMaintain accurate inventory levels to support repair and maintenance needsManage commercial agreements with suppliers and customers to ensure favourable terms and conditionsKey Skills And QualificationsStrong commercial and financial acumen ensuring overall business performance and sustainabilityMarketing, Sales, Account Management and Business Development skillsAbout YouOur ideal candidate will have proven and significant executive leadership experience ideally within the heavy plant and machinery hire industry sector.
