The Builder The Builder is a well-managed company established almost 10 years ago, specializing in projects across retail, hospitality, apartments, and child care. They handle projects ranging from $1M to $25M, with most in the $5M - $15M range. Their focus is on building strong relationships, with a significant portion of our work coming from repeat clients. Their Directors have a top-tier pedigree, having managed large-scale in excess of $100M projects before starting the company. The Role This is a crucial full-time role within the Finance Department at the Richmond Head Office. As a Financial Accountant, you will work alongside the Office Manager, reporting to the Financial Controller and Director. Your responsibilities will include: Balance Sheet reconciliation and analysis. Maintaining monthly cash flow for multiple projects. Administration of General Ledger and Fixed Asset Register. Supporting Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll functions. Managing project and month-end closing processes. ERP system management and maintenance. Preparing bank reporting packs. Coordinating and preparing tax submissions, including FBT. Assisting with annual budget preparation. Compiling and submitting BAS, PAYG, and Payroll tax, and assisting with statutory reporting and accounts. Handling ad-hoc financial queries. Are you suitable?You will need to meet the following to be considered suitable for this role: A tertiary qualification in Accounting or equivalent, with CPA or CA qualification desirable. Approximately 2+ years’ experience in a similar project-based accounting role with a construction organisation Experience with Jobpac or other construction accounting software (e.g., Cheops) preferred. An understanding of construction fundamentals. High proficiency with MS Excel. The ability to prioritize, plan ahead, and handle competing priorities. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to report issues to the CFO and directors as required.
