Fire Safety and Security Officer (Reliever), Queensland Health
Our Gladstone Hospital is searching for a Fire Safety and Security Officer (Reliever) to follow defined service quality standards, occupational health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
You will be required to liaise with Departmental/Unit Supervisors and employees regarding fire safety and security issues and conduct regular inspections of buildings and equipment to ensure serviceability of equipment and effective fire safety precautions are observed.

Gladstone Hospital provides a range of services to Gladstone and the Banana region. A new emergency department is being built which will double the department's current capacity. Our Destination 2030: Great Care for Central Queenslanders strategy will see Gladstone Hospital developed as a centre for emergency care, medical inpatient, and day surgery excellence. This will optimise outreach services to deliver care closer to home in the Gladstone and Banana rural communities.
About the role:
As a Fire Safety and Security Officer with Gladstone Hospital, you will provide facility, building and asset security, and protect the personal safety of patients, staff, visitors, and the general public by implementing, maintaining and evaluating security procedures that provide security for personnel and buildings within Gladstone Hospital.
* Assist with inspections of buildings and firefighting equipment within the facility.
* Provide information and assistance to staff, visitors, and service contractors as necessary.
* Supervise traffic control and coordinate security staff as an effective and efficient security service within the facility.
About you:
Non-mandatory qualifications/requirements: While not mandatory, obtaining a Certificate II in Security Operations, or trade equivalent would be well regarded. Training, knowledge, and skills expected to be at a demonstrated comparable level.
* Awareness of, or the ability to acquire the awareness of, fire, safety and security regulations, guidelines, policies and relevant legislation applicable to the requirements of the position.
* Ability to identify important tasks, prioritise and adjust workload to accommodate the changes.
* Ability to function effectively, autonomously and show initiative in day-to-day problem solving.

Total remuneration value of up to $33,970 p.a. is comprised of:
* An hourly rate between $34.02 - $35.66 p.h.
* 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
