Registered Nurse - Surgical Services

About the Role:
1. You will be working as a Registered Nurse in Surgical Services and fulfilling all roles required within the Theatre/Day Surgery Unit.
2. This position reports directly to the Nurse Unit Manager of Theatre/Day Surgery and is fully supported by the team.
3. You will receive orientation and all support required at the commencement of this position.
4. All Mandatory training will be provided as required and the department is supported by a Clinical Nurse Educator.
5. Ongoing education will be provided by the Clinical Nurse Educator.
Where you'll be working:
6. You will be part of a dynamic and innovative Theatre/Day Surgery team within Rural NSW.
7. The Theatre/Day Surgery Unit itself is a purpose-built department with a busy Rural District Hospital.
8. Inverell is an elegant and historic rural town on the MacIntyre River and is in the heart of the gemstone country.
9. The town is known as Australia’s Sapphire City, and you can try your luck at finding gemstones at Billabong Blue Sapphire Fossicking Park and several other locations around town.
10. Inverell is approximately a 7-hour drive from Sydney and less than 5 hours from Brisbane, with flights to Sydney operating 3 days a week, and flights to Brisbane 4 days a week.
The NSW Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme:
This vacancy is eligible for an Attraction and Relocation package that includes the following*:
11. Attraction incentive paid as a Rural and Regional fortnightly allowance of up to $10,000 for the first 12 months.
12. Retention incentive of up to $10,000 thereafter annually
13. PLUS 3 months accommodation assistance ( rent payments, mortgage re-payments, payments for commercial accommodation)
*All payments and reimbursements made to part-time employees will be on a pro-rata basis.
Attraction incentives will be paid as a Rural and Regional fortnightly allowance on top of your base salary.

Requirements:
21. Registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
22. Post-graduate clinical experience in operating theatre/procedural unit nursing in an acute hospital setting.
23. Recent experience in Theatres with Perioperative Qualifications or working towards.

26. To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport. 27. All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
28. Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
