Context statement The Department of the Legislative Assembly provides the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly, its Members and Committees with quality and timely support for the operation of the Parliament, Parliamentary Committees, the Parliament House precinct, and Electorate Offices (and staff). The Asset and Building Management unit, which is part of the Corporate and Electorate Support Division, is responsible for ensuring Parliament House is a safe, secure, and well-maintained building, managing functions and venue hire at Parliament House, and maintaining electorate and liaison offices for Members of the Legislative Assembly. Provide contract management, direction, and supervision to service providers to ensure the timely delivery of professional cleaning and grounds maintenance services to Parliament House and the precinct. 2. Prepare regular reports on contract performance and results and recommendations to the Director. 3. Coordinate and ensure the timely completion of repairs and maintenance, minor new works and office signs at electorate and liaison offices across the Northern Territory. 4. Maintaining effective relationships with Electorate Offices, service Agencies and stakeholders on matters relating to property maintenance and management to ensure effective coordination and quality outcomes. 5. Assist with management of the Parliament House artwork register. 6. Day to day supervision of the Building Maintenance Officer. 7. Assist in the management of Member accommodation at Parliament House and electorate offices. 8. Assess member entitlements to office furniture and equipment in accordance with the Remuneration Tribunal Determination and Speaker’s Determinations. Selection criteria Essential 1. Demonstrated high level interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills with the ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters with empathy and interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds. 2. Demonstrated working knowledge of procurement and contract management processes. 3. Ability to work successfully under pressure in a fast-paced frontline operations environment, anticipates issues and implement solutions to achieve business outcomes. 4. Proven ability to provide customer-centric service delivery. 5. Ability to act professionally at all times with political impartiality and to operate within the boundaries of policies, processes and procedures. Desirable 1. Experience in facilities management and knowledge of commercial leasing. 2. Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft or equivalent software and records management systems.
