About Us
The Casey Area Mental Health Service is led by an innovative and supportive leadership team seeking to provide a high quality recovery based model of mental health care that will continue to develop with our growing community in the South East growth corridor. Teams are based in both inpatient and community sites offering collaborative care to clients experiencing mental health difficulties within our area.
Narre Warren APARCS is a 10 bed community-based residential recovery program that is operated in partnership with Wellways. The nursing staff work from 830-1700 7 days a week and 1230-2100 Monday to Friday.
The team provide a comprehensive multi-disciplinary recovery program on an individual and group basis, which incorporates comprehensive assessment and delivery of evidence-based treatment and onward referral for people who are experiencing an acute mental health issue across the age range. Interventions are tailored to individual consumer and family needs as well as circumstances.
Candidates with the following classifications may apply:
Nursing: RPN Grade 3 Year 1-4 (NP81-NP74), Occupational Therapy Grade 2 Year 1-4 (YB 20-YB23), Social Work Grade 2 Year 1-4 (YC42-YC45)
As the Embedded AOD Clinician, you will implement a range of therapeutic interventions that aim to reduce substance-related harm, and improve mental and physical health. They will also enhance the capacity of PARCS staff to work with residents with a co-morbid substance use. The Embedded AOD Clinician will provide a range of evidence-based, therapeutic interventions on an individual and group basis.
About You
To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:
* Demonstrated capacity to perform community-based mental health assessments of people in an acute phase of a psychiatric disorder including comprehensive risk assessments
* Demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in recovery orientated practice, family and carer inclusive practice and supported decision making
* Substantial relevant experience in community-based assessment of acute and chronically mentally ill people and of people with a range of mental disorders
You will possess:
* Registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board via AHPRA (if required)
* Demonstrated experience in acute mental health
* Post-graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing
* Minimum of 3 years mental health post graduate qualification experience
* Current Victorian Drivers Licence
