If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you as an UG Mine Technology Technician at Cadia.As an UG Mine Technology Technician, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing our mining processes through the implementation and maintenance of advanced technology systems. Your expertise will help enhance safety, productivity, and cost-effectiveness in our operations while reducing human intervention and environmental impact. You will work closely with operational teams, utilizing cutting-edge technologies to monitor, troubleshoot, and improve systems within our underground and surface mining facilities.Key responsibilities include:Contribute to the delivery of solutions that aim to remove personnel from hazards and/or reduce exposure through new or unique technologies and improved automation capabilitySupport and maintain in-cabin mining technology (e.g., fleet management systems, fatigue monitoring, proximity detection, tele-remote) in the heavy fleet to ensure minimal downtime and consistently high productivity.Maintenance of communication infrastructure (e.g. Private LTE, Leaky Feeder, two-way digital radio, Wi-Fi) for both surface and underground operations, ensuring robust and reliable communication channels.Maintain interconnected components and infrastructure used to convert, record, transport or control Mining processes, equipment, energy, and/or information for mining purposesPromote a safe work environment - be responsible for assisting with developing and nurturing the culture within the teamYou will also have training, knowledge and experience in:Trade qualification - electrical/auto-electricalTraining and experience in WLAN/LAN networking installation and fault-finding, including Fibre Optics (desirable)Mine data telemetry systemsUnderground and Surface mining technology applicationsSafety managementFunctional Safety (desirable)IP Networks & Wi-FiPlease note: This is a permanent full-time residential role (no FIFO/DIDO) at our Cadia mine site, on a 7D/7X/7N/7X roster.
