About the role
Reporting to the Underground (U/G) Electrical Maintenance Superintendent, the lead planner will work closely with the maintenance superintendents, operational maintenance teams, and asset management and reliability teams to develop maintenance strategies, manage master data, and ensure that all work is carried out safely and in compliance with site and industry standards.
This role is responsible for strategic direction of the planning functions, coordination and supervision of the maintenance planning team, consisting of short term and Shutdown planners, as well as development and implementation of systems and processes to support the maintenance department to meet our KPIs.
Key responsibilities include:
Developing and maintaining systems to support maintenance planning for underground fixed plant equipment. Aligning planning processes with overarching equipment strategies and department priorities. Coordinating with asset management teams to assess equipment condition and implementing proactive strategies. Managing master data for underground fixed plant equipment, including integrating new assets. Overseeing personnel availability and collaborating with procurement to support maintenance execution. Ensuring maintenance activities align with asset management plans and risk management practices. Identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and performance. Providing input into capital projects, audits, and upgrades for fixed plant equipment. About you
The position requires a current Electrical Fitter Mechanical Licence (QLD) and experience in maintenance, mine planning, and scheduling, preferably in an underground mining environment. Key skills include a strong understanding of fixed plant equipment used in underground mining, proficiency with maintenance planning software (e.g., Pronto or similar CMMS), and excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities. A commitment to safety, environmental standards, and effective teamwork is essential.
