Temporary and part-time roles may not be eligible for all inclusions.Moira Shire Council is an Equal Opportunity Employer offering flexible work arrangements for employees in a family-friendly work place.Moira promotes a workplace that actively seeks to include, welcome and value the contributions of all people and encourages people with a disability, Aboriginal Australians, young people and people from culturally diverse backgrounds to apply.Job DescriptionFor a copy of the Position Description click the hyperlink (or "Apply" of on Indeed, LinkdIn, or SEEK)Key Responsibilities and functions of the Community Services Officer include:Plan, develop and implement programs and activities with the Community Services team.Implement and promote youth events across Moira Shire in accordance with Department of Families, Fairness and Housing FReeZA funding agreements.Consult and liaise with relevant community organisations, and Government Departments.Represent Council on relevant Committees including the Youth Engagement Network.Coordination and facilitation of the Youth Council program.Assist in researching and preparing relevant submissions and grant applications.Identify and procure required resources, such as equipment, venues, and staff for the delivery of events and programs, within budget parameters.Support event management and program delivery including risk assessments, planning and evaluation.Participate in organisational planning and relevant training programs.Operate within council guidelines to have an active professional presence on social mediaPrepare written reports, correspondence and other administrative tasks relating to the positions’ area of responsibility.Provide support to the Community Services team members, where required.ConsiderationsAs part of community engagement and development activities, the incumbent will be required to work some evenings and weekends.Desired Skills and ExperienceEssential qualifications and experienceQualifications and experience in Community Services, Youth Development, Community Development and/or Allied Health.Demonstrated event management and program delivery experience.Group facilitation skills and ability to develop effective networks with local communities and organisationsExperience in facilitating community consultationsBroad knowledge of issues, trends and Government policies and priorities impacting on young people and the broader community in rural and regional VictoriaDemonstrated ability to produce accurate documents and service coordination.Proven ability to be flexible and to work without constant supervision.Work effectively and contribute to a team.Desirable qualifications and experiencePrevious experience in Local Government.
