Management (Information & Communication Technology)Other (Education & Training) Full time, 5-year fixed term appointmentSenior ContractCasuarina Campus Provide leadership, direction, and delivery management of high-quality ICT services across a broad range of information and digital solutions for Charles Darwin University (CDU) About the PositionAs the Deputy Director Service Operations, you will oversee the tactical Service Operations (ITIL RUN) function at the University, ensuring effective ICT management of networking, infrastructure, enterprise systems, student systems and corporate systems teams, through close collaboration with incident, problem, change specialists from the IT Compliance group.In addition, the Service Support portfolio will drive event management processes, whilst Service Ops drives enhancing integration and collaboration across Digital Technology Services (DTS).You will lead a diverse teams of technology specialists to maintain a reliable, high-availability 24/7 environment that supports and strengthens the University's technology services.Providing strategic support to the Chief Information & Digital Officer (CIDO) with hands-on management and expert guidance on Service Operations delivery, technology development, and ITIL/ITSM improvements within the cross-functional, bi-modal DTS structure.About YouTo be successful, you will require: Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or related field, or equivalent work experience.Exceptional management and leadership skills with proven ability to strategically manage and tactically execute operational oversight of complex ecosystems whilst providing authoritative technical and policy advice at the highest levels.Solid knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, ITIL 3 and 4 practices, with experience in project management methodologies and blended cloud/private infrastructure models.Proven ability to inspire and lead large, cross-functional ITIL Service Operations teams in a 24/7 high availability environment, fostering high performance, on-time delivery, and budget compliance.Exceptional planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a track record of innovative solutions in high-demand environments.Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, adept at negotiation, consensus-building, and conveying expert advice to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Extensive experience in adopting industry-leading practices and technologies, enhancing IT operations and scalability in line with organisational goals, demonstrating a track record of continuous improvement.Strong relationship-building abilities, demonstrating values-based leadership to build a high performing, adaptable team culture.Understanding of the higher education sector, with empathy for its research and education priorities and familiarity with university structures.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding and dynamic environment and adapt to changing business needs.
